NATIONAL FAST FOOD DAY
National Fast Food Day is observed annually on November 16. On this day each year, people all across the country celebrate by going through the drive-thru, dining inside or ordering their fast food to go.
First popularized in the United States in the 1950s, fast food is considered any meal with low preparation time and served to a customer in a packaged form for quick dine-in, take-out or take-away and typically with a drive-thru.
Merriam-Webster dictionary first recognized the term “fast food” in 1951.
Following World War I, automobiles became popular and more affordable. At that time drive-in restaurants were introduced. In 1921, White Castle, an American company founded by Billy Ingram and Walter Anderson in Wichita, Kansas, opened, selling hamburgers for five cents each. Anderson had opened the first White Castle in 1916 as a limited menu, high-volume, low-cost, high-speed hamburger restaurant.
The United States has the largest fast food industry in the world. American fast food restaurants are located in over 100 countries.
Standard fast food menu items include hamburgers and other sandwiches, fish, fried chicken, chicken nuggets, tacos, pizza, hot dogs, french fries, onion rings, breakfast biscuits, coffee and ice cream.
Fun fact: The first Happy Meal was served in June of 1979.

We don't cook food up here in NY, we nuke it, LOL...I just loved that Danny DeVito line in that flick...my wife loves cooking, she introduced me to the cooking channels...until she got me into that whole thing, I'd never even heard of Chopped, or Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri...we actually also went to a place he'd shown on the tube once, and also went to a couple fixed up by Gordon Ramsey...one other place we went to by us, the guy running it had actually won Chopped...my culinary horizons have now been seriously expanded, LOL...she thought his burger the besthe ever had, and he had these Brussel srpout things to die for, figuratively speaking, honest....

Actually, you might think this kinda odd, however, while it might sound weird, my wife and I actually love 7-11 fast food stuff...the pizza is pretty good, she also likes the wings, and I just LOVE the buffalo chicken rollers, you know? Besides, how can you NOT love a place that actually stocks Yoo-Hoo, as well...plus, they've got great fresh fruit, and I also just love those little boxed Bumble Bee tina and chicken salad things with the crackers, as well as their Campbell's chili, and their nukable mac and cheese things....

Capt Daniel Goodman - I have to agree with Mac that trust in the safe and proper handling of food is what prompts me to shy from the fast food places. I even am skeptical of some of the alledged better restaurants.

I follow...actually, we're also partial to Friendly's up here, and there's a chain called Red Robin with outrageously good chili...I'm a total chiliholic...one place by us, I'm not sure if it's a chain or not, does these totally crazy wings called Nuclear Habanero, for real, I kid thee not...trust me, they'd peel paint off walls, honest...only once, at a Mexican place we'd gone to once, did I push the whole spice envelope a trifle far, I got midway through a steak, and my wife told me I was actually turning a pale shade of green, LOL....

Fast food or medium fast food or in some slow food can be ordered at so-called fast food restaurants. My wife who speaks fluent Spanish is frustrated by attendants who are Spanish background who don't understand either Spanish or English.
