LCDR Riley is a native of New Brunswick, NJ. She began her military career in 1996, when she enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Upon completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois she reported to her first command aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). She later applied for a rating conversion to Cryptologic Technician Operator (CTO). After conversion in 1998, she reported to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), where she served as the watch supervisor and earned Surface Warfare and Air Warfare designators.

..."In 2015, she reported to U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/Commander, U.S. Tenth Fleet where she served as the staff Battle Watch Captain, Fleet Command Center Director and Assistant Current Operations Director. Additionally, she was selected for re-designation to 1810 (Cryptologic Warfare), completed a Master’s of Business Administration in Leadership. In 2018, she served as the Deputy Information Warfare Officer for Amphibious Squadron Eight, onboard USS BATAAN (LHD 5), Virginia. Currently, she is stationed at Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group and will transition to retirement in September of 2023.
Her personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Commendation Medals (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and other various unit citations and awards. Her husband Jamel resides in Maryland with their two children Bre’Yana and Malachi.
