McCarthy has long been a figure of interest to the select committee given his phone call with then-President Trump amid the insurrection, in which the president allegedly suggested the pro-Trump rioters were more patriotic than the lawmakers under siege. McCarthy has acknowledged the call occurred but has repeatedly declined to discuss specific details.
The focus on his role, and any involvement from other Republicans, has only intensified over the past week, when McCarthy took the remarkable step of threatening the nation's tech and telecom giants with unnamed repercussions if they comply with the investigators’ request to retain the phone and social media records of GOP lawmakers who actively supported the effort to block President Biden's electoral victory.
"If companies still choose to violate federal law, a Republican majority will not forget and will stand with Americans to hold them fully accountable under the law," McCarthy warned.

On top of that, your dictator number 3 in command of the US government just allows people to be on the panel. Never in the history of legislation has the Speaker of the House told Republicans that they couldn't have this person or that person because they didn't like them for whatever reason or claiming they were part of the F Troop coup that never succeeded or because their argumentation skills are better than Nancy Pelosi's and other inept Democrats.

I know your F Troop would have accomplished the mission had they been revolutionaries not a bunch of dingbats like the ones from what I call the F Troop of revolutionaries who didn't even think of securing the perimeter, securing Avenues of approach, securing radio stations of declaring martial law. But the idiots who are on the Progressive left keep thinking that this was a dangerous overthrow which could have overthrown the American government. I respectfully disagree. There were military police companies on standby but everyone was too afraid to make a decision to send them in.
