A Prayer for the Wisdom to Stop
Lord, would You help me to be quick to recognize and respond to Your promptings. Often You speak to me through Scripture, daily prayer, and other believers. You also speak to me through the undesirable consequences that come from acts of disobedience. May I see Your cautions and “stops” as part of Your loving way of keeping me from danger and redirecting me to that which will be of blessing in my life and to those around me.
Amen.

....and Amen, Amen, Amen!
Wow! I was responding to another RP brother in private mail and was reading (quoting) Ecclesiastes 3:1-13 which is one of my top three verses during my response to him (a Vietnam vet). When finished I and hit SEND, before I get started in my workday from my home office I poke around on RP and landed here in this thread...........................
Well, there is a time under heaven for ALL things. I think it is about time that we as the "human-beings" who inhabit this nation "...conceived in liberty..." who were, if you study carefully, "...yearning to be (truly) free..." and recognized that real freedom is not in doing what you want, when you, to whom or with whom you want, it is the wisdom to restrain that urge to act with reckless abandon at critical times to seek the lofty goal of working to become a "...more perfect union..." in ourselves (i.e., our hearts, our souls, and our minds - unified) so that the imperfections we are as human beings in the fury of the rage that is both educated and uneducated ignorance currently running rampant via the tempest of both collective and individual emotions can be cooled with not just rhetoric, but the humble unsung human (i.e., person-to-person) actions to "...help other people at all times..." so that - TOGETHER - we provide for the "...common defense..." so as to "...promote the general welfare (i.e., health and wellness - think Maslow's first three rungs on the Hierarchy of Needs Pyramid)..." so that as we continue to "...establish justice...for ALL..." that we, each of us never forgets the real price of genuine freedom!
The price of genuine freedom is when ANY of us are willing to take the key that unlocks the shackles that binds ANY person in the slavery that entraps their mind in ignorance to give them the tools to LIFT themselves to a new plain of being and the humble pride they feel as if standing atop an Olympic podium receiving a Gold Medal for their supreme efforts when they are heard "...speaking words of wisdom to let it be...". This vision is reflected in the words of Ecclesiastes 4:9-14, then it repeated in Luke 6:31 a much shorter verse with greater impact of that short sentence designed to be easily present in the forefront of our minds "...at all times...".
In short, much of our nation is NOT EXTREME (right or left), but the "manipulative class (educated and uneducated alike)" as they have for brief times during the darkest periods in the history of the world have often created the conditions for unrest to flourish so as to use the collective educated and uneducated ignorance against all of us as a people who believe in the goodness, which is in another human being when we take the time look deep enough and are persistent enough to fight to find it and then help them rebalance the scale that is their eternal human soul so they can - move forward! This eternity of the soul is expressed elegantly in Einstein's E=mc squared that is not just an elegant physics equation, it reminds me that the operational message that our "souls as eternal" gives each of us the opportunity to improve upon its energy while for a short time lodged in the mass that is our human body knowing that its capacity will again reside in another body to help advance the universal purpose of - LIFE!
The solutions rest in each of our hearts to not just say what is the right thing to do, nor parrot convenient catch phrases, but what proper actions we TAKE to - DO the RIGHT THING, even when it is unpopular as is was when Christ walked into the temple and upset the business of the money changers - knowing later that he would pay with his life! Yet > 2000 years later we honor that kind of eyes wide open courage! Yet he went into homes not in anger but in peace to break bread as an opportunity to heal and serve witness!
Each of us presently servicing or with prior service has thought about what we would do when faced with the need to make the ultimate sacrifice and we'd be lying if we have not from Culinary Specialist to Jet Jocky from recruit to a CINC of a Fleet or Army. Yet, we as veterans we are somehow both scared yet always willing, because "...we the brave few...(i.e., 1% of the nation)" know and understand better than most that words are just words until their ultimate animation is - in action - just, transparent, and consistent - action - toward achievement of that "...more perfect union..." flawed imperfect human-being sought and continue to seek. Is it easy? No!!! Is it worth it? Yes!!!!
My prayer is therefore simple - "Lord, continue to keep me humble so that when time comes for me to act, I will not hesitate nor will I recoil from my duty nor my responsibility to extend my hand to another human-being that you have, with grace, breathed your precious breath of life into. May I always be mindful yet never timid and always be deliberate in my actions to extend kindness and grace to others each day as you continue to bless me daily to draw a breath to act in your holy name with genuine courage. Amen!"

P.S. Oh, I happened to find this ~ 13 min TED Talk yesterday 10 Aug 2022 by the modern rapper - Cordae about the "High-Level Mindset". Of course, I was looking for something else!
