Some of these men must have remembered what Ronald Reagan said in 1980: Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?

I must have missed this last month, but I heard it today on the news and I looked up the Reuters pool.

A growing minority of African-American men are getting frustrated with President Biden and the 16% inflation which was mostly self-inflicted.

The minority would have picked President Trump over President Biden.

This is from Reuters. Democrats, now you know why you have people like Robert F. Kennedy Jr and others running as an alternate candidate to President Biden. President Biden is going downhill fast.

Some of you call the Make America Great Again Republicans a cult.

I disagree, some of you are actually a cult wanting to back President Biden no matter how badly he does. In my observations, he is a cross between Mr. Magoo and Mr Rogers and will do anything his handlers will say that pushes forward the leftist agenda that doesn't take into consideration economics and finance 101 and African-American men are getting frustrated with the disappointing results and empty promises made by President Biden. He advertised himself as a moderate, but not knowing anything on how to govern or manage an economy properly.

I think that a lot of people of all races are fed up with Bidens economic policies. We need a conservative in the white house to get this country running on all 8 cylinders again. Biden just dosent cut it. The dems have failed on everything. I pray that in the next election that we get some with leadership ability whose is not in bed with the comunist, like the curent admistration

You are welcome, ruben! It was this chance that I heard on the radio so when I got home, I looked it up. What I mean radio, I mean Sirius XM of the regular Fox News broadcast. I think I was listening to Sean Hannity or Laura Ingraham on the way home from work. It had sound bites of a couple African American men expressing their disappointment. This should be something that alarms the Democratic party because the black vote can make a Swing Vote. There is a parody of Ronald Reagan from the early 1980s. And he's basically saying to the black boat even if just 10% of you vote for me I'll appreciate that. This is a white guy rapping who looked like Ronald Reagan. Because of your nice compliment, I'm going to post this as a regular posting. I've done it before a couple years ago but I'm going to do it again because I can use this slide to reinforce what Ronald Reagan was trying to say back in the 80s or at least his caricature was trying to say LOL.

The value of $100 in 1971 is equivalent to $752.13 in 2023, with an average annual inflation rate of 3.96%. The inflation rate in the United States between 1971 and today has been 652.13%, resulting in a total increase of $652.13. By calculating the value in 1971 dollars, $1 is worth less over 52 years, and over 50 years, based on the 653.36% change in prices.1 The value of $1.00 in 1971 is equal to $7.46 in 2023, with an annual inflation rate of 3.94%. The Bretton Woods system of fixed exchange rates established at the end of World War II marked the beginning of the end for this system.

Yes sir. I would say most people do not grasp,”aggregate “. The fact inflation grew at 15% last year is not a problem because it only went up 5% this year. Kind of like the economy is great, we’re selling less and getting more money in return.

Jack, you're mixing apples and oranges (or at least different types of apples). Maybe if you looked into the figures better you wouldn't be so quick to label them as partisan (I know, the gut reaction is to deny anything that doesn't support someone's view, but to me that just means to actually look at the facts and figures instead of dismissing them out of hand).

You are talking about the RATE of inflation. That changes on a monthly basis as a comparison from the month or year before. If you are comparing annual rates and it was up 5% last year and 3% this year, that doesn't mean inflation fell by 2% (the RATE fell by 2%, but not overall inflation), it means that compared to the beginning of last year it's up 8% (actually, 8.15%).

Here are the "right-wing" source numbers for you to dismiss, straight from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics https://www.bls.gov/cpi/tables/supplemental-files/historical-cpi-u-202305.pdf

The average CPI-U (Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers) was 243.603 for February 2017 (the month after Trump took over), 263.014 for February 2021 (the month after Biden took over), and 305.691 at the end of July this year.

That means it was a 7.97% average price increase during the four years Trump was in office and a 16.2% average price increase from the time that Biden took office (so far).

As a comparison of the previous presidents and the CPI-U increase for the first 2 1/2 years in office (February of the year they came into office and July of their 3rd year) and the average increase for each of their four or eight year terms).
Trump - 5.32% (avg 7.97%)
Obama - 6.47% (avg 7.4%)
GW Bush - 4.61% (avg 10.35%)
Clinton - 6.57% (avg 11.43%)
Bush - 12% (avg 17.68%)

You have to go back to Carter to find a president where the inflation was worse for Biden's timeframe (23.69%, avg for term was 48.73%)

While the idiots and the staff of the White House are touting the fake and fraudulent inflation reduction Act success, it's still not at where it was in January of 2021. Here's a slide from a year and a half ago when it was at its peak and this was before the invasion of Ukraine so President Biden is a freaking liar saying that the invasion of Ukraine by Russia caused inflation.
