It appears that the "Republican shutdown" is imminent...
According to that article, 21 Republicans voted against a continuing resolution to keep the government open for a short period while they worked out budget deals. Let's keep this in mind. It was a short term deal designed ONLY to keep the government open for a bit of time - one month. This was not a long term budget or appropriations bill. The funding in the CR was only for the month of upcoming negotiations. Any budgetary cuts or increases in the CR last ONLY for that month.
The CR failed 198-232. With 21 Republicans voting against.
And Democrats are going to jump on this and call it a Republican shutdown. They will blame Republicans till they are blue in the face. And their media mouthpieces will be only too happy to parrot them and join in the condemnation. BUT...
This CR failed 198-232 with 21 Republicans voting to shut down the government. By my math, that means that 211 DEMOCRATS JUST VOTED TO SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT.
Do not lose sight of that in the narrative and spin to come. Approximately 90% of Republicans voted to keep government open. If only 10% of Democrats had joined them, the government shut down would NOT he imminent

Not buying your argument. The House GOP has not even reached out to House Democrats because the House GOP wants to pass a CR containing GOP policy goals, and they want to pass it on a party-line vote. They don't even want Democratic votes, and some of the far right members (Gaetz in particular) have threatened to yank McCarthy from the Speaker spot if he were to reach out to Democrats. Problem is, the House GOP can't even decide what they want, despite trying multiple party-line CR bills. This is on the GOP. If the situation were flipped, the GOP would be right in denying their votes to help pass a CR containing only liberal policy goals. And, were that the scenario, it would indeed be viewed as a Democratic shutdown.
If the House were to put forth a clean CR bill, with no policy goals (conservative or liberal), some Democrats would vote for it and a shutdown would be avoided. If they were to reach out to Democrats with more moderate right-wing policy goals, they just might get some Democratic votes then too, and a shutdown would be avoided. Until they stop talking only with themselves, and stop pushing the extreme right-wing agenda, they won't get any Democratic votes.

SFC Casey O'Mally - "I bow to your eliteness. You are obviously my better, and the world must know!" = another debating fallacy. I take it that you're working from the book because you seem to be running down the list.
An ad hominem is an attack, whether the attack is true or not. It's a weak attempt at getting others to dismiss your opponent's perspective. I would hope you could do better than that, given that you seem to think so highly of yourself.
"You just don't see that because you stay in your echo chamber." = assumption, stated as if it were fact. That's also another debating fallacy.

LTC Kevin B. I didn't say the ad hominem wasn't an attack. I said it wasn't a fallacy.
I am also not in a debate. So, yes, I use sarcasm. Because you deserve it.
As for your echo chamber, I call it like I see it. When I am calling out republican stupidity, I don't see you in the threads at all. I only see you when you are censoring folks for their appropriate tags with which you disagree or when you are defending your Democrat masters.
You are unable to actually counter any of my points, so you resort to attacking HOW I make them. Which is fine. If that is what you have to do to feel better about yourself, so be it.

SFC Casey O'Mally - "When I am calling out republican stupidity, I don't see you in the threads at all." That point actually undercuts the assumption you are making about me.
You have a selection bias with your information set. That's okay though, because right-wingers call me a liberal for adjusting their tags and left-wingers call me a conservative for adjusting their tags. People see what confirms their biased perspectives.
