We replaced the brakes on my Toyota a couple days ago and discovered that one of the calipers had locked up. The replacement caliper (remanufactured) was $156.99. We rebuilt the caliper (with the help of a youtube video) for the price of the lubricant. A whopping $1.99 plus tax and thirty minutes of our time and a bit of brake cleaner. A savings by time you add tax of over $165.00!
Too top it all off, these brakes had 138,016 miles on them and O'Reilly auto parts replaced the pads free of charge under their lifetime warranty!
Don't be afraid to do this yourself. The worst you could do it have to buy the part anyways!
