An arthritis flare is keeping me up...so like I often do, I think back to when I could move without pain. Which was most of my first six decades. And then I thought about the Pretty Sunset Pictures the good Colonel puts up every day. Then I thought about how much Marching, Hiking, Rucking etc...all of us Veterans did, especially in the Infantry.
So I thought I might challenge all of you outdoors folks to post a picture of one of your favorite hikes. Whether it be a beach, mountain, forest, jungle, desert...or just a park near you.
The Picture I put up was from a hike near Whittier Alaska. I thought it was beautiful. Can't wait to see your pictures ! (And isn't it kinda cool, that all of us here on Rally Point, moved around (a lot!) when we were young Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and women, and no, I did not forget you Marines ! The LRRP's among you are probably laughing at what I consider a hike.

The only hikes I have done are relatively short. But I did long distance cycling. The pics are me in the middle of my best 12 hour race at Sebring, FL. I placed first in my age and the recumbent cycling category. I finished with 212.6 miles in the 12 hours of racing. I am receiving my medal in the other pic.
I know some may think this is crazy, I disagree. Crazy are the cyclists doing the 24 hours race.

it’s a carbon fiber frame SGT Kevin Hughes. It’s definitely not as light as the cycles used in the Tour De France.
There is another manufacturer of recombants with a movable bottom bracket and front wheel drive called cruzbike. If mine ever dies I will get a cruzbike S40. It goes for just under 5k.

Maj Robert Thornton - That's Space Age technology to me, with a price to match! But you need the right tool for the job!

Yeah, I should have found an MOS where I wasn't carrying my body weight...uphill. LOL
