Two events happened to me today. I will tell about the cute, lighthearted event first. Then, I will tell about the not so cute event.

My dog is in his "too big" for him sweater. This sweater is the one he wears most because it feels like a warm blanket. I keep my house at 68 degrees. So, if I doze off, I know he is comfortable. Last night I got an uneasy feeling something was wrong because I did not hear him stirring around. I heard a tiny whimper. Then the whimper gained some tenor. I went into the hallway and he had gotten his right leg inside the hood and he was trying to walk up the hallway with 3 legs :)

I was on a Zoom meeting. Most of the time I talk on Zoom with my screen image (the helicopter being piloted by my son over NC and Virginia). In this particular venue, I decided to come on screen, yesterday. A participant went into shock mode. She started talking really fast and misspoke (I think) and said to the speaker, you should look into working with the NAACP... blah blah... all the programming and funding and how there would be benefits for them... blah blah. My screen picture suggested I was another type of person. But, when the person behind the picture emerged, then there was another station in life that seemingly, I belonged.

These are my rants. Thoughts?

PO3 Phyllis Maynard Cute dog! Our dogs don't like wearing sweaters. You have to do in life what YOU want, not what someone else suggests. If you like you job, I say stick with it. I could make a lot more in industry if I wanted to but I like teaching too much to switch at this stage of my life.

Cpl Vic Burk I love my dog! I weathered my career days. I involve myself in venues as a volunteer, although so some strange reason people think I am trying to feed a household of folks. I volunteer my passion.

I was going to point out that I have never seen a fixed wing helicopter. But boy oh boy did I love that picture. I remember those days ...

SGT Kevin Hughes when my son decided he wanted to see if flying was for him, my bladder, kidneys, liver, and heart went to the emergency room. LOL

The person who went into shock is their own problem...not yours, don't pick up their emotional baggage. Just learn to say, 'thanks for sharing" or "no thanks" and let it go. I deal with ageism...I sound much younger than I am...I am pretty fit and I have a strong voice and I get shock when I come on line sometimes...LMAO...I am a tough old bird, fueled by coffee!

Lt Col Charlie Brown aye, aye. I went off and had a very healthy emotional episode, in private. Then, I worked it out in Brett Cotter's Zoom mindfulness session. We had group discussion. Mindfulness is a powerful tool; unlock and release works, if you work it.
