Happy New Year...ready for a quick Road Trip?
What a nice way to start the New Year. My brother and his wife made a X country Road trip just a few weeks back. I posted pictures of that lovely car. They had a blast.
So I sent their note and pictures out to my friends. And this morning, when I opened my Emails...there were six different stories of : "Road Trips."
My friend Tim and his wife, went Coast to Coast in a little Red Miata. That's the first picture.
Kathy and I went from Ft. Hood, to Ft. Benning (and back!) In my favorite car, the 1977 Caprice Classic...loaded to the gills. It felt like you were sitting in your living room...at 80 mph. LOL Later, as a Road Comic, I drove it from Jacksonville, Florida, to Houston. And then from Houston to Los Angeles. If you ever make that drive, be sure and stop by Ft. Smith and see the tree. LOL I don't know if you can die of boredom on the Highway, but Houston to El Paso might pull that off.
My honeymoon with Kathy was from Austin, Texas, to five Civil War Battlefields, ending up in Gettysburg, PA. Yeah, I know, what a Romantic I was, eh?
Our last Road Trip was in 2024, where we drove from NC, to Niagara Falls, to Sudbury, Ontario, to Cleveland, Ohio...and then home.
And it was a blast. We took our time, found little odd historical places, and ate only at Mom and Pop's places....no "fast food" chains. And that was as much fun as you think it might be.
Road trips...so many memories.
Hope you have some Road trips in your past too!

The NJ Turnpike is also a boring road. Starting as you leave Delaware, if you hold the steering wheel with the wheels straight, you can nap until you smell Elizabeth. Then you need to wake up.

One of my buddies said the same thing about driving through Kansas. He said he fell asleep for about three hours, and when he woke up, his car was just starting to leave the right lane. LOL
