Coldest day of the season so far. Temperatures at 0600 hours was 7 degrees. Little wind or it would be much colder feeling.
We are out of school again today due to icy conditions and the temperature will not be above freezing today. I went on my daily walk yesterday and slipped on some black ice and landed on my hip and right arm. It really did a number on my arm. My wife was worried I broke something (even though I had full use of my arm and hand) so I went to the V.A. emergency room. They did x-rays. No breaks but unable to determine of there is a fracture. My arm and elbow looks like a balloon this morning. A bit painful but I'll survive! Good thing the Marine Corps taught me that pain is nothing more than weakness leaving the body! OOHRAH! LOL!

you have to watch out for the snow snakes. We got the wind and blowing snow, thankfully very little snow. The pictures I've seen look like a linemans nightmare. Sure glad I'm retired and delayed our trip, a few days earlier I would have been in the middle of that

SSgt (Join to see) - I loved "A Christmas Story!: Filmed just two blocks from where I grew up! And one of my Classmates in grade school lived right next door. And another classmates Dad owned the bar just around the corner. Good memories.

First, get well. We will all yell at you later...math education should come with some basic Physics...like friction. So you know that a tiny layer of water forms under pressure on the ice from you weight....and then you slip and fall. And then your wife has to convince you that you might really be hurt. Because all the other Marine's do is laugh and say: "good training." Second, it also our Coldest day of the year too...well below freezing with the "feels like temps" down in the low teens. But it will get worse this weekend, when they think the actual Temperatures will be in the teens. And nobody owns Winter coats down here. Unless they moved from Up North. Stay warm. And heal fast.
