I don't know how many people remember the Johnny Carson Show. But I heard my favorite cold weather joke during one of his Monologues ...back when he was still in New York City:
Johnny: "It is really cold out today."
Audience: "How cold was it?"
Johnny: "I saw two dogs stuck to fire hydrants."
And it still makes me laugh.

And it still makes me laugh.

@sgt kevin hughes I remember the dry humor jokes. I enjoyed the show, but I simply hated it came on a 1:00am or 2:00am.

SGT Scott Bailey - Oh that one was legendary. Can't repeat it in polite company. But it put me on the floorQ

SGT Scott Bailey when he was no longer hosting, I believe Joan Rivers replaced him. I enjoyed them both. I remember "Will you move that damn cat"? Talk shows, in those years were great!

Sadly, I have to agree. He knew he was a big Star, so he had no qualms about letting your star shine. And he didn't make bold provocative statements, during all that Civil Rights Stuff, he just brought on Black Super Stars, like: Sammy Davis, Harry Belafonte, Muhammad Ali, Ertha Kit...and treated them as people, and equals...and the message got across. He was just...decent, and that carried a lot of weight.

SGT Kevin Hughes I did not know this about his Black guest lineup. I was really young in the 1960s and 1970s.
