Are you exiting the Military? Not sure what to do afterwards?

I am a maintenance elevator technician. Just recently I found about a program called "Helmets to Hardhats" If you might be interested in working on installing, maintaining, or designing elevators, check out this program. Hard work, formal training, better than normal pay and advancement. ( depending on the local area). An example: I work on an University. I met a student that is in union and works in San Francisco, L.A. or many other large city. He works for 3-4 months (10-12 hours a days 6 days a week) and pays for his tuition, housing, food, and living expenses for the school year. Just saying. If want it, work for it. It's not just for elevators, there are many careers that this program could help.

LTC, You are right. I have been out of the service now for 27 years. I wished I have know about it when it was established. I have know others that could have used a program like this. I found out about it through a young man now working for Otis Elevator. He just exited the Navy and bypassed all the normal application procedures. What a great way to get started.
