Attention soon-to-be Retirees, did you know that you can have your retirement certificate signed by any living President?
According to the Air Reserve Personnel Center, (I'm sure other services offer the same thing), you can have your retirement certificate signed by any living president. I was not aware of this until talking with other retirees recently. If you are planning to retire from the Air Force Reserves anytime soon this may be something you want to work out with ARPC Retirements section so you get what you want when your retirement certificate arrives.

I retire 1 October, and all Presidents have a Presidential Letter of Appreciation, to include Donald Trump which is not available at the moment. The sitting President is signed as Commander In Chief." I have received Presidential LOAs from Bush 41 & 43, Carter, and Clinton. All can be requested online with the exception of Bush and Carter. You must mail in a request. It takes about 2 months for them to send, so please request early.

SFC (Retired) Efrain Hernandez - Indeed. President Obama was in office when I retired in 2010. Still I request both Bush 43 & Clinton. I just received the Bush LOA in the mail yesterday. I felt quite honored.

To receive a letter of appreciation from a former U.S. President, use the contact information below. Requests should include, at a minimum, full name and rank of retiree, date of retirement, address, name, and phone number of contact person. Other information may be required.

There are many thieves, cheaters, and liars in the VA, not to mention the loss of inventory of 350,000 veterans who were waiting for an appointment. I think it will require external forces to make internal change.
