LTC Vindman retires, was he right or wrong? What about the second and third order effects?

Aside from the usually partisan (and superficial) comments regarding LTC (R) Vindman, is there a lesson to be learned here? We had a sitting US senator holding up promotion for 1000 senior officers to allow for his promotion. Whistleblowing. Polarizing politics and the politicalization of the military seems to be here for the duration. While the retired could easily just take pot shots from Ft. Living Room, here's my question. How can currently serving members truly remain apolitical? In a world where one callus post can end your career, use some judgment if you elect to weigh in. Was he right? Would you have done the same? Was he dead wrong?

First I would turn to the 7 Army Values. Then I would ask myself. Does this call fall under classified information? If answer is yes . Then we have our answer don’t we. Personally I feel he was wrong and I wounder what other classified information he shared and with whom. And if Jedi sit for political reasons then he’s just wrong for putting himself in that situation. Tough to answer not being him. But also if what I read is correct. And 1000 promotions where held so he could get that job. Then that may or may not fall under conspiracy and that may be treason.

When General Milley is held accountable for being political then I will say any other Service Member is wrong for being political. Until then it means nothing anymore to claim to be apolitical.

Vindman over-stepped his bounds. He was obligated to COC not to shine light on himself.

WE as military members serve our Country and the constitution 1st, many of you have forgotten that to justify whatever twisted reason you have.... the President is a far third for the reason that he holds office for only so long (regardless of trying to retain it by illegal means.)

You a retired 06 and are 100 percent off kilter.
1. Vindamen WAS A POLICY ANALYST FAO.
2. LTC Vindamen property used his chain of command to report what he believed to be UNLAWFUL practices regarding foreign policies.
Why do you think the current administration seems upside down?
Previous administration's flawed policies NEGATIVELY AFFECTS current administration's ability to overcome the chaos.
Your perview is limited. Your argument is not well critiqued, and reaks of 'someone whose personal views overshadow the truth.
Very disappointed in your simplex, irrelevant explanation regarding your own opinion.
Sad so many fall in line with you.
Glad you are retired and not leading troops with this partisan weird logic.
Got a problem with what I write?
Too bad

Armored combat? So you sat on your ass in a TOC.. letting the real troops do the work..I've met a LOT of officers while in the service..you're the absolute worse. And the fact you're defending a pos like Vindman shows it..do us both a favor...stop posting. Its your only hope of posting something true or factual..

Vindman was a uninformed service member. It has everything to do with the oath. Loyalty to the constitution above all else…that’s why it is a certain order. Now him getting fired from his post makes sense because he couldn’t be trusted to perform those duties with transparency. Still the point being there should be no reason and no situation that causes you to have to choose between being loyal to the constitution or being loyal to a person…even if that person is the president. If that ever happens than it means the person (in this case the president) is in fact wrong themselves. Think about we all should be upholding the constitution…all of us, including the president. The only time you would have to choose is if one (the person or the constitution) is out of line and the constitution remains unchanged since it’s inception so that could only mean the person is out of line. Bottom line Vindman made a choice and even if it cost him his job and it torpedoed his career he was not wrong for that choice.
