What's your reaction if you find (see picture below) in a Soldier's residence?

I think it should be confiscated, carefully wrapped, and shipped to:

I see at least one single malt, so, I would allow the display, with benefits of course.

Ha, I thought it was going to be some sexually inappropriate picture or politically inappropriate item on the wall when I opened this. That is one awesome bar!

In the Corps when I was in, Sgt and below could not drink in the Barracks. It was not well thought out and those of legal drinking age should be able to drink at home. I think this has changed since the early 90's.

I don't know.. we had the same white blinds in our barracks and it didn't seem to be an issue.

The blinds I think are regulation, but that coax connector in the kitchen has to go.

LtCol Bruce Janis - I remember him well, I even sewed on his last gold strip for him when he was chief of naval ops.

It was a mixed bag. Drinking in the barracks was off limits at Quantico and at MCAS Cherry Point, you couldn't have alcohol in the barracks unless you were a SSgt or higher. Then when I got to Okinawa, they had a beer machine in the TV room, but no alcohol was allowed in your room unless you were a Sgt or higher. About 2 months later, no alcohol in the barracks again.
It was largely held up to the commanding general and Gen R. R. Porter (Drunk is dumb Porter) beer in the barracks became off limits again.
It would really have been nice to have consistency across all installations. At least you could expect the same treatment that way.

Back in the early 80's, was stationed at Ft Wainwright AK. Company policy was no hard liquor and only allowed a six pack in fridge. Knew a barrack inspection was coming up, so I got 6 mini kegs and had them in fridge. CO and 1SG was not amused, but my platoon SGT was. Had a big ole smile on his face when he admonished me and just told me to get rid of them. Barrack mates and I made sure we took care of that ASAP
