Do you have any tips or tricks to make the process of branch transferring to MI a little less painful?

Hello RallyPoint! I’m a MS officer looking to transfer to MI after having been in a “will train” position while enlisted. I know the steps of calling branch and getting BC approval as well as finding a new unit with a paragraph and line, but wanted advice from someone who had recently done it.

If you were a direct appointment to AMEDD, (no OCS or ROTC), you might have to apply for a new appointment as a 35D, as opposed to a branch transfer.

SGM (Join to see) good to know SGM. I did attend the Direct Commission course (fed comm source) and graduated BOLC so I hope that doesn’t apply. Thanks for the heads up though.

Generally speaking, it's not too difficult to branch transfer if you are a junior pre-CCC officer. You need to complete MICCC to become branch qualified and DMOSQ, then complete a 4187 to HRC to have your PMOS changed to 35A.
