Sorry about posting the picture by itself. I was so excited to share I hit the wrong button.
I am sure you all know that guy (or girl) who will give anything to the one they love. Their kids, their grandkids strangers...anyone but themselves. So one of my relatives is like that. I don't think he has ever bought anything just for him, in more than 75 years...until...this! (Look at the pictures of the car!)
It is way old, like 2003...but kept in good shape both mechanically and cosmetically.
In my whole life, that is the first time I ever saw him buy something for himself. And his wife loved it. She got to drive it quite a bit, since they bought it in California and had to drive back to the East Coast. Thousands of miles to drive. And she said: "It does 80 mph all day ...just purring." I did not remind her the speed limit is 70!
It made me so happy to get his email today. He is a Purple Heart recipient, as was the guy who sold it to him. So there is that connection too. And to read the joy in his email...well, what a grand way to start the New Year. With someone who is so unselfish to give a gift...to himself. Way to go Brother.
Happy New Year!
