Toured Gettysburg twice. One distant cousin was in Company F, 12th New Jersey Infantry.
One of his brothers was in the 13th Virginia Cavalry with Jeb Stuart's cavalry when they ran into George Custer's group on the other side of Gettysburg. There's never much mentioned about that in Gettysburg history.
The brothers were born in Philadelphia and raised as Quakers who were anti-war.
Their older brother was in the 9th Texas Cavalry and was captured at Vicksburg about the same time that the battle at Gettysburg was going on.

I had a relative in the 9th TX Cav Rgt as well (Erastus Tanner)...he later transferred to the 9th TX Inf Rgt into the unit in which his brother was a 2Lt (Stephen Tanner).

GREAT memory! Ginger would have passed away by then, I think: she was born in 1953-54.
