After California raised taxes, business in the state INCREASED, and now their economy is the strongest out of all the 50 states. There is a right wing talking point about how deep in debt California is. That's utter bs. California now, under their Democrat governor Jerry Brown, has a budget SURPLUS. Their economy is growing at 4.1 percent, up from 3.1 percent in 2014.
Meanwhile, Kansas, under the control of far-right Republican Sam Brownback, cut taxes massively. The result? Growth fell from 1.2 percent to 0.2 percent, and there is a massive budget DEFICIT. Some school districts in the state no longer have enough money to even function.
Bottom line? Right wing economics don't work.

OMG! Really? I live in California and I'd love to know where that budget surplus is. And the 4.1% growth in the economy. Better yet, I'd love some of whatever the editors at MSNBC are smoking.
