There is something rotten in Denmark. Only one reason I can think of as to why the GEN pushed that hard for the LTC. I could be wrong......

When the subordinate is of the opposite gender, that is where the mind goes in a situation like this - "when you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras". However, it could be a mentor exerting good old-fashioned undue command influence.

That's some serious undue command influence, regardless of the reason. But to willingly and knowingly go against protocol, policy and standard.....

MSG (Join to see) - Yep. No two ways about this - he was doing something that absolutely shouldn't have been done. I somehow see a change in senior leadership at AMC in the near future...

His wife is a retired O5. She could have been pressuring him to hook up one of her peers.
He may be a 4-star at work, but at home a husband is just a 2IC at best.
