Those that contemplate suicide need real help, specifically they need intensive mental health. Unfortunately, the mental health system in this country is broken. If Mr. Bloomberg was really concerned he would be working on and funding ways to fix the system.

As a mental health provider, I can tell you this is absurd and does only one thing...it allows those who remain to say, the person who chose suicide had another choice. Of course they did, and it was there without this law/loophole. If they had enough control to use this, they would be in treatment.
