PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I don't know how he lives with himself... apparently, he is like 45.

..."Cruz is expected to make an appearance at the National Rifle Association's annual convention, which takes place Friday to Sunday in Houston.

Over the span of his career, Cruz's campaigns have received the most donations of any senators from gun lobbyists, at $442,000, according to OpenSecrets, a nonprofit dedicated to tracking money surrounding America's elections."

Guns are not the problem; enforcement of the law is the problem, mental health of the citizenry is the problem, lack of Social Obligation balanced against Personal Right is the problem.

The idea that violence (gun violence is a Red Herring) is an acceptable response does Not stem from the existence of firearms. It stems from the facts that our community exists almost exclusively on, What's in it for Me, as opposed to trying to be a Society that looks out for each other.

Instead of looking at the tragedy of the shooting, look at the motivation For the shooting. What caused that barely a man to think that his actions needed to happen?

I don't know anything about the shooting in Texas, but in the Sandyhook shooting, the person that did it BEGGED for help for 3 years. There are 911 call records of him reporting himself that were ignored, and, as a result, people died.

Is the gun really the problem, or is it the, "Do Something!", response while we ignore the real issues because we can't be bothered to care?

PO2 Christopher Foss - Other nations have the same problems as we, but they do not have the number of mass shootings as we. Why is that?

MSG Stan Hutchison - Indeed? Other nations are raising their citizens in the belief that violent response is appropriate because it is unacceptable to teach them to obey the Law of the Land?

Other nations refuse to do anything about the issue until it has become a crime?

Other nations have heads of schools that say that standing around and recording a gang rape at a school funtions with personal cell phones "isn't doing anything wrong"?

You cannot let a child be self educating until their majority and suddenly expect them to understand how to be a grown up.

I'll even address the principle that you skirted around. Other nations' "gun control" isn't why they don't have these problems. The reason they don't have these problems is that the societies they have created look after their citizenry.

If the second, or even the third, 911 call MADE BY THE SHOOTER have been taken seriously, that tragedy wouldn't have occurred. Yes, blame the shooter for his actions, but blame the principal, and their staff, that didn't address the issue while he was still in college. Blame the Public Services that didn't get him help. Blame all the people that looked away because "it isn't my problem".

If you want it in another fashion, because it the same issue applied to another category, watch the WHOLE video for (TRIGGER WARNINGS) Wrong Side of Heaven by Five Finger Death Punch

He lacks a moral core because if he did he would be deeply ashamed and adjust his attitude and behavior to be more prosocial.

All republicans, and imagine that. I'm sure this is just a political aberration, or is it?
