Those are the two careers I'm looking at for the ANG. I'm trying to plan college around it, but I can't find a straight answer answer anywhere.

Do you know if you're going to be a 1N4A or 1N4B? I believe with the new course, 1N4B is 4-5 months. 1N4A is roughly the same time with an additional 6 ish months

Considering it's double the training time, it must be more in-depth?

Its very different from the 1N4B course. Recently graduated from 1N4B before the course changed and we had one block that taught very minimal stuff that 1N4As would be learning. From what I hear from friends at Pensacola right now, it requires a lot of studying. Very worth it though as it profits well in the civilian world.

If computers/technology is a weak area, don't be scared. My friends knew nothing about computers and graduated as distinguished grad in my class in the 1N4B course and another graduated as top grad down in Pensacola.

When I went back in 98, 1N4X1 was about 4.5 months.

You will need at least 12-18 months buffer...basic, tech school then MEST orders after school, which depending on your command could be “highly” recommended and not an option...
