They are leaning toward a belted version which they should. When authorized to wear a belt with the ASU, it makes it look so much sharper. In my opinion that is what has been lacking in the Army's dress uniform for years.

The belt for the blues is a ceremonial belt. Not to be worn every day. Usually with worn to include the saber.

There should be a belt on a military dress uniform. IF it was m decision though, that old short cut jacket with khaki trousers and brown boots with a dual buckle cover over the top laces, that would look sharp, and always has

I feel if you are on airborne status you should wear the the brown jump boots and I would like the khaki's to come back.

The really ironic part of all this....is that the one guy who is really pushing for it, is probably going to retire after his SMA tenure is over before this new uniform is required to have, and thus won't have to worry about it.
