If you are overweight, you'll get taped. If you pass tape, your're good. Since you are stating that you have to be no more than 150 lbs, I'm guessing you are between 17-20 years of age, so that means your maximum allowable body fat % is 30%. If you have to be taped, just be under 30%
Depends. I went to MEPS at Buffalo in '05 and at that time you could do a Means Test to get in if you were overweight. Basically, you just had to do a specified number of pushups and a step-test. Not all MEPS locations had this at the time. I would talk to your recruiter to see if that's still possible to do or if you need to put it off for just a little bit.
Personally I think that the DoD has to change their h/w standars seing as how they haven’t changed since the Vietnam era (don’t quote me on that). I believe that as long as you don’t look like garbage in uniform and you pass your pt test (regardless of branch) it shouldn’t be an issue. I was in the Marines and I was out for a year and a half before coming to the Army, when I went to MEPS I had to get taped... seeing as how you’re only a handfull of pounds over I would try and cut it (sauna sauna sauna) but you should be good on tape. Best of luck on Tuesday though.
