Is this really a question for a GS 15 or a SES? Are all to be trusted? There is a solution.

I have high expectations. Violation of espionage and protection of classified laws meant punishment.....etc for special ladies.

Sir, i think that boat has sailed. There are leaks everywhere and no one is facing any charges. Hell, the FBI Dir sent privileged communications to a friend. Result- nothing.

threats cam out of the public domain and a known worldwide, Classifying them would serve no purpose. The government can not protect secrets that they do not own and were never secret, but public and published knowledge. the only people we would be keeping it secret from is the US public, That is especial true since 5G is not primarily a US technology it , though NASA proposed and initiated, primary being developed overseas by the Chinese, the Norwegians and the Koreans.

I agree that Gov does lose some secrets when they allow politicians and others not focused on national security. We do keep some great secrets. Even if a USGov secret is exposed it is still a secret. Threats to US are classified. We do not want to give our understanding or our way to mitigate that threat....lets not give our enemies or "strategic Competitors" an advantage over USA.

The threat to the US was public knowledge. anyone familiar with the tech could see it . Our Strategic competitors were not informed but his leak of of public info thier companiesaandMD universities participate in the developement of the system. classify this threat is like classifying the risk of sunburn. also since the 5G standard is of necessity and international one any real fix in the achitecture would be reviewed and approved by the whole world..
