My little brother passed just one month after he retired. He was a great storyteller. And for some reason, one of his "Stories" came to the front of my mind today. So here it is:

Timmy (my little brother) and my Nephew Bobby (same age as my little brother) I guess I should mention there were 27 years between my Mom's first child, and Timmy, the last of 12 kids- so that explains the older Nephew) were driving in a car. Some guy cut them off. So Timmy chased him cut him off, and braked him. So the guy returned the favor. We were all sitting on the porch of my Sister's house when Timmy pulls in the drive screeching to a halt. A second later, another car pulls in behind Timmy. The guy gets out of his car and comes over to the Drivers window and motions Timmy to roll down the window. As this was going on, a Cop pulls up who had seen Timmy's Road Rage and followed him home.
Timmy rolls down the window, and the guy punches him in the nose. Timmy rolls the window back up with a bloody nose. Cursing like a sailor. The Cop then sorts it all out. The other guy leaves. But the Cop pulls Timmy to the side and explains how he could have been in even worse trouble. He told Timmy he could have caused an accident. It was obvious the first guy just made a mistake and didn't see Timmy's Car. It wasn't intentional, but what Timmy did...was.

Timmy apologized profusely. We, of course, are hanging on every word from the porch. So finally the Cop hands Timmy a warning, and says:

"Did you learn anything from all this?"

Timmy looked chagrined, looked down at the ground, then back at the Officer and said:

"Yeah. Don't roll your window down."

It's scary. Now a days, they would shoot you. That was a funny response by the way. :) Take care.

Best story I heard in a long time! God Bless your brother, you and your family. It seems he led a good life and enjoyed it. It doesn’t get much better than that. :)

Yeah, he never took a vacation where he left town. I managed to talk him into taking one with me when we just went around little places in Ohio.

SGT Kevin Hughes I think of that as old school. That’s the way it was in the NE Pa area I grew up in, your vacation was maybe a day out at a local lake and get an ice cream on the way home. I have good memories of it.
