Yes sir many goverment agencies use .40 but they haven't annouced what caliber yet.

My dad remembers back in 1965 Watts Riot he was working the jail as a brand new sheriff he remembers people coming into jail with multiple 38 caliber gunshot wounds well I'm sure if they want to a 40 or 45 they would not be able to walk around 4 long.

Sir, I'd like to point out that "stopping power," is a myth for any caliber below .50. Shot placement is everything. As for evidence, I'd like to invite you to pore over the multiple stories of law enforcement pumping drug users under the influence full of rounds and not being phased... if "stopping power" did anything at this level, it would stop you regardless of your state of mind. Altered or otherwise. Not to mention multiple accounts of soldiers/civilians getting hit by 5.56 or 7.62 and not even knowing they were shot until the adrenaline died down, or a buddy pointed it out.

Government and Police as I understand switch back and forth between 9mm and .40
