Lost the topic yesterday. Long weekend at Lake Cumberland and Cumberland River Below Wolf Creek Dam. High winds made Saturday and Sunday a bust. Monday on the lake made up for it.

It pays to have a guide. I've used the same guide now for the last three years and he has always put us on fish, including the 39" Striper I have on the wall. Shooting for over 40" now.

CPT Lawrence Cable - I’ll never forget the 8 pound stripped bass that I caught in the north fork of the Russian river in California. I played that thing for almost 30 minutes with a #14 hook.

PO1 H Gene Lawrence - I don't think I could thread a #14 anymore. The two biggest we caught that day would be in that 8-9 lbs. range and they are certainly strong when the water is still cold and oxygenated.

PO1 H Gene Lawrence when went to take the hook out of its mouth, the hook broke right at the bottom of the shank. Almost lost that one.
