A growing number of European countries are blocking access to Belarusian airlines. The response comes after Belarus intercepted a commercial flight and removed and arrested Roman Protasevich, an opposition journalist who was on board.

Speaking to NPR's Here & Now on Wednesday, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Grabrielius Landsbergis, whose country borders Belarus, expressed his support of the sanctions.

Belarus is a side story. Russia needs Belarus to help the logistics to their Russian land aircraft carrier in East Prussia. Lithuania stood up to the USSR near the end of the Soviet Union. With some attempted humor a past leader of Lithuania stated Lithuanians would never back down against Russian oppression, because historically Lithuania used to go from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. He forgot to add this was when Poland and Lithuania were basically one country. My take is Russia needs all its friends in Europe it can gather since the US is trying to isolate the Russians. They need friends. But the big story that will never be told is Russia is waiting for the US with its domestic politics to be disoriented, they need incompetent leaders in the US in charge. Pompeo was a god send to the Russians. His foreign policy was the King James Bible, and the Russians are Orthodox Christians who do not have a crusader mentality. Honestly I mean this only as an observation, Trump fit the bill perfectly. It is just wonderful for Putin and Russia for the Republican Party to ignore the January 6th insurrection as a peaceful demonstration.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand - Randy I am not sure the US can survive another 100 years. I am sure the problem is most Americans inspite of advanced information technology are living in the 1940’s. Our schools are incompetent. Our universities are ran as non profit foundations for profit where its presidents make 100’s of dollars a year. We are the economic powerhouse of the world; yet most people have no clue about how to balance their bank account. Have no clue about what the three branches of government do! We were the best politically run nation in the world, but we gave the keys to our freedom to celebrity driven politicians. Today intelligent Americans are treated with suspect because they do not have a clue about who Jennifer Lopez is, or who her boyfriend is at the moment.
