The movers packed many of my items that are supposed to be turned into CIF. Can those items be carried forward to my next duty station?

Im usually really good about keeping my OCIE separate during PCS time but this time I was in the field when the movers came and my wife wasn't sure what could and couldn't go and accidentally had them pack things I needed to turn in for PCS. I just need to know if I can carry items to my next duty station and turn in there or if I'm going to be out now even though I know I have the items?

CIF prescreens your record and tells you what is CF and what is turn in. If you are PCSing, it should not be a big deal.

Yes, each CIF is different so make sure you ask for the list of the things you cannot keep.

This is a weird story. Why is a SSG in the field when the movers show up? Stop, never mind, Murphy may be in play. If the gear is reasonable in price, buy it and clear. If it's expensive, call the moving company and see if the box is still local. If not, lesson learned.

It's been my experience that you cannot clear your current post without first turning in those items.
