Shopsmith tools. My son was thinking of buying a Shopsmith Mark 7 woodworking set up. With the cost being $5,000.00+ I think some investigation would be important before getting off that kind of money. Has anyone on here purchased one of these. If so, what is your opinion? Good, bad, or ugly, we want it! Pro's or con's also appreciated. Thanks for your input.

Just my opinion, I think the time spent Switching tools on the shop smith and the price of decent table top equipment + hand devices make the shop smith obsolete. Biscuit slot cutters etc. do away with the need for dowles.

I've looked but could never afford one.

By the way, from reading a bit many seem to think they can be gotten from EBay but you have to be careful to check that they have all the pieces needed for setup.
