When I was selected for MAJ, it took ~2 months to get orders cut. I was just selected for LTC, I have a slot within my current unit so I am staying put. so was wondering if the process is the same/similar or does it all depend on how "high speed" your S1 section is?

I was supposed last year to Lieutenant Colonel and it took my unit about three weeks to get my order published. I was selected the first week of July and my date of rank was 30th July.

I was just wondering because there was a guy at my unit who was also selected last year and it took them until December to get his orders published. However, he did not want to stay with our unit and was looking to transfer so that probably slowed down the process for him. I turn 56 on Thursday and can start drawing my retirement at 59 yr 2 months. Hoping to get orders so that I can get in my "high 3" as LTC without having to stay in much longer than I have to.
