PO2 Robert M. - I like Big Bang Theory. I have a lot of times I have to mute Sheldon because I want to kick the actor in his soft parts. In that regard Jim Parsons is excellent. He plays the borderline autistic, socially awkward, know it all, asshat perfectly.

A lot of people hate the Big Bang Theory but I think it's more amusing than most sitcoms.
In any case I love the idea of a young Sheldon show but I wonder if it can succeed without someone like Jim Parsons in that role.

It is the most popular show of its kind on TV and has been for years, but to hear some it is just something mediocre on the margins. Why are more people watching this "bad" show than any other comedy?

1stSgt Nelson Kerr With the advent of "on demand" television, Hulu, Netflix, etc - people have a lot more choices. I am amazed at some of the shows that Netflix puts out now...

PO2 Robert M. - I am amazes at some of the Netflix shows myself, but people still watch BBT more than any other situation comedy and have done so for years now.

BBT is the new Seinfeld. I think the show is entertaining in its own right. Plus I'm a huge fan of the British comedy IT Crowd. As for a young Sheldon show, I don't think so. Kind of like Doogie Howser I guess. Not sure if I spelled that right. lol
