I usually buyTravel Insurance when I buy a package that includes both airline, hotel and other entertainment. In this kind of arrangement I usually buy my packages months ahead. Things can change in 3 or more months and you might be more likely to require changes or cancellations. If I’m only buying airfare, I usually do not buy any insurance. Airlines are willing to help you if you are late or miss a flight or if you had to make a change etc. I just don’t find it necessary. Of course you might want to consider the amount of the total airline ticket and kind of ticket. The cheapest the airline ticket The less flexibility you’re going to have making changes. However during the pandemic airlines have been very flexible and understanding in allowing changes, and cancellations without charging any additional fees. Bon Voyage!

..."Like many eager travelers, I’m booking a lot of trips now. But, as I book trips, I have to decide whether to purchase independent travel insurance. And it may surprise you to learn that for most trips, I forgo purchasing travel insurance.

Instead, I put my trip expenses on a travel rewards credit card that may provide protection when I use the card for travel purchases and things then go wrong on the trip. So, today I’ll consider an important question that I’ve asked myself many times: “When should I purchase travel insurance and when can I rely on credit card travel protections?”

The answer to this question is complex and personal. As such, the answer will vary from traveler to traveler as well as from trip to trip. Let’s dive in so you can make an informed decision for yourself.
