Troops to immediately withdraw from Syria as Trump declares victory over ISIS

MY COMMENT: We don't know what we don't know, but if you read carefully, you'll notice a decidedly ambiguous definition to "withdrawal." That is to confuse the enemy. Public diplomatic messages are always coded. They are meant to extract certain reactions and responses from enemies and adversaries. Rest assured, the US will maintain a presence in Syria as long as the country is destabilized. The mission is in "transition," not coming to an end, as the MSM is honking on about. Even politicians and hawkish Trump supporters are squawking about a "total troop withdrawal," when it is obviously not the case. This is gamesmanship, but it is also self-preservation. Conventional US troops anywhere are big bright targets for the enemy. The longer we stay in one place, the more vulnerable we become. Leaving Syria and declaring a victory in our conflict with ISIS is one thing, actually withdrawing all assets and leaving remaining remnants to their own devices is something else. We will remain in Syria with CIA and Shadow Warriors in order to monitor, target and disrupt any untoward activity. Sun Tzu: "The supreme art of war is defeating the enemy without battle." Deception is perhaps the most important battlefield tactic. Sun Tzu: "When strong, appear weak, when fast, appear slow, when near appear far." President Trump has the finest battle-tested military advisers alive, and they are advising him on his every move, in spite of what the lying NY Times might say. We will exploit the enemy's weakness, but without spilling American blood unnecessarily, and we should never do so for strictly altruistic reasons. Our next move must have a clear objective, and will consider time, space, movement, enemy, resources, implications, future operations, etc. Let's not give the bad guys sitting ducks. "Transition" to a mode where the enemy is weak from confusion and a lack of actionable intelligence, then strike when he is most vulnerable - when he thinks he knows what you're going to do next.

Mission Accomplished speech - Wikipedia
The Mission Accomplished speech (named for a banner displayed above the speaker) was a televised address by United States President George W. Bush on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln on May 1, 2003. The name became central in the controversy that followed.

The "Mission Accomplished" sign referred to major combat operations being over, not the entire Global War on Terror or even the operation in Iraq. You are being intellectually dishonest otherwise. Trump saying ISIS is defeated has a context as well. Of course we are not completely pulling out all assets from Syria. Read the official press release and you will note a movement to the next phase of the operation, not total withdrawal. The pomp surrounding the troop withdrawal and Mattis resignation are all part of a posture in an attempt to get our enemies and adversaries to expose their next move rather than focus on our sitting duck outposts. We will retain CIA, Shadow Warriors, advisers, drone and air assets. No worries. You don't know what you don't know, and you only know what you need to know.
