I met a Korean War Veteran at the Post Office this morning. And just that sentence tells you how old we both are...because who bumps into someone at the Post Office anymore. But I digress...
I saw his "Korean War" hat, saluted him, and we got to chatting. My brother in law served in Korea and got the Purple Heart. Turns out this guy got one too.
During our conversation the said there were some good things about serving in that war.
"Like what?"
"You could poop right next to your foxhole. It froze solid, didn't smell after a few seconds, and in the morning you could use it as a rock to throw at the enemy."
And that was a bit of History I never read about.
