The ban is one of several anti-LGBTQ bills passed by the Kansas Legislature. It would allow for civil suits against doctors who provided gender-affirming care — which is widely supported by U.S. medical associations — for those under age 18. It would also revoke the licenses of physicians who offered such care, starting in July 2023.
TOPEKA — The Legislature voted to effectively ban gender-affirming care for Kansans under the age of 18 and revoke the license of physicians who offered such care, comparing gender identity issues to smoking.
The bill was heard and passed 70-52 in the House and 23-12 in the Senate during early Friday morning hours, following the Legislature’s decision to suspend protocol and work through the night.

I believe this is a good bill. Sweden quit Trans gender treatments for youth because they found most of the children suffering gender dysphoria were suffering from mental issues. Kids can’t sign a contract, get a tattoo, and you have to be at least 17 to join the military..

This will help keep the hands off of the kids. As an adult, you can affirm your gender all you want, but kids brains are still developing and they CANNOT determine their gender care. Their parents don't get to choose either. Biology is still a valid science.
