I had to go to the Urgent Care, as our local VA Clinic does not have a "Walk In" component. So I figured I wouldn't be getting to chat with any Veterans. I thought I would just get seen, they would figure out what was wrong, and I would leave. Nope.
The Medic that did the routine stuff (BP, History, Temp, weight, swabs for strep, Covid, the Flu...all that kind of stuff) was wearing a Marine Lanyard with his ID hanging from it. I asked if he was a Marine. Nope.
His daughter is. She is a Captain in the Marine Corps and flies that weird looking bird: 'The Osprey."
He told me that her birthday is 9/11. She was in NYC (in College) when 9/11 went down. And so, of course, later she joined the Marines because of 9/11. That date was her Destiny...or maybe ...Fate.
She wanted to fly Fighter Jets, but she didn't meet the Height requirement of five foot six. But she is a fireball anyway.

His name is: "Doug Malko" and he was a guitarist in the Steve Miller Band from 1997 until 2008. My wife's favorite Band is....(drum roll please) : The Steve Miller Band. "You are the cutest thing I ever did see, I really love your peaches...and want to shake your tree." And he told me the rest of "The Joker" and the pompedous of love....Marurice!
At his Wedding, Less Paul, and Jeff Beck were there...and his two daughters call Les Paul - "Grampa Les. Can you imagine all that talent just drinking and strumming at a Wedding?
I can't sing, but I knew the words. LOL. They figured out I have Viral Bronchitis, and gave me the stuff to heal up. And now, Bed rest for a week. LOL
