16 years after Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn Cashe passed away from severe burns sustained in Iraq, he will now be awarded a Medal of Honor, the highest military decoration for acts of valor. I thank Sgt. Cashe for his service and hope that he rests in peace. I am grateful that he is being recognized for his heroic action of pulling six fellow soldiers and an interpreter from a blazing wreckage.
