Do most of the Officers and Senior enlisted find that they are the neighborhood experts on joining the Military?
My job isn't as public now, but relatives, friends and co-workers seemed to have directed their children, relatives and friends that have questions about enlisting, OCS or ROTC to talk to me. I'm glad to help, but I've not been active or active reserve for a long time. OTOH, to make sure I'm not steering people wrong, I have tried to keep up with the regulations some.
At least half the questions seem to be about pay and apparently the Army doesn't do any better job of explaining it to recruits than they did in my day.
