In the scheme of things, it's good for the Navy. However, it's a great big hilarious 'fuck you' to Mabus' attempt to strip our ratings. IMO, of course.

SSgt Terry P. - Oh, I'd be perfectly willing to spend some time in the hoosegow for assaulting either of those pricks.

SN Greg Wright - Some people just effect you that way and it usually doesn't take long,it is more than a "clash" of personalities, too.

Not sure I get this one. Is the rating badge different? We, that are submarine qualified wear dolphins, these new ratings seem redundant.

MCPO Roger Collins - I guess it just makes it easier for the pencil pushers to keep things separated (exams, quotas and such). The biggest change though is now they are their own rating and have their own exam

SCPO (Join to see) - What ever happened to NECs? I was assigned by rating, rate and NECs (also my SS designation). What the Hell more do they need?

MCPO Roger Collins - Not sure what to tell you brother. Navy has been doing this kind of thing for a long time. Sonar techs have been segregated between surface and subs since you were in. There are a lot less ratings and they are a lot less complicated these days all well.

SCPO (Join to see) - segregated based on ship type, as I recall along with qualifications. As a submarine Radioman exams and other criteria were the same. Surface types could go submarine with appropriate eligibility and disqualified submariners could go surface. Is my memory wrong?
