Up here in the mountains there are frequent Public Safety Power Outages during the Santa Ana conditions that begin in October and November. They'd rather kill the power and make us all sit in the dark than upgrade their systems to make them inherently safer. I understand there's no perfect world. But it seems that they can do more with just some of the basic things like stress relief and whatnot. We use them in amateur radio use to take stress off of cables that we have to run for a length. It doesn't affect their operation but where they interconnect is where the greatest stress is at. They're used by electricians all the time.
With this Meme in mind, when's the last time you heard of a nuclear reactor in the United States going sideways? They are used all over the world successfully and without accidents. Isn't it time we enter the 21st century? We have unlimited power available to us. Yes, there are risks but you're more likely to die in a traffic collision each year then from a nuclear power plant meltdown.

SMSgt David A Asbury I guess they'll expect us to use solar powered battery packs in our our oxygen generators.
