You took an oath to the Constitution but have you ever taken an oath to your state or country?

Most people pledge allegiance to the flag or salute it but they do not take an oath after serving. The military understands how powerful an oath is, it creates a bond between you and your nation. An oath is taken as to establish honor and intent.

As a National Guardsman you take 2 oaths, the federal and a state oath. I'd have to dig through my archive but I believe ours in RI is to the state constitution based on the authorization of the Governor (and as head of the militia, captain-general) of the state of RI
