Iranian brigadier general killed in battle in Aleppo

Thousands of Iranian Soldiers joined forces with the Syrian Army for the battle to retake Aleppo. This is one of the largest mobilization in recent time to support the Assad regime. It consisted of Syrian forces, Hezbollah fighters and "thousands of Iranians" It also included support from Russia through airstrikes. Officially the Syrian government denies the presence of Iranian Soldiers however the death of General Qajarian disputes this.
"Reports from inside Iran say that a second brigadier general was killed in battle in Syria this week. Second Brig. General Qajarian was a veteran commander during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s and was appointed commander of the armored troops in 2011.
Thousands of former Iranian soldiers and officers are believed to have traveled to Syria to fight alongside regime forces under “defenders of the shrine,” The Sayyida Zeinab shrine in Damascus is one of the holiest places of the Shiite faith."

We lift sanctions on Iran so they can take our money and use it to send resources to Syria. All the while we are spending money to send resources to rebels that the Iranians are fighting. Sounds about right.

Yes the parallels between Syria and Vietnam are eerie. SAM sites, US SF, former French influence, supporting rebel forces. The Russians are on the hunt for the trigger man who killed their pilot. A quarter-million killed so far in this proxy war. I'm just waiting for Turkey to bomb Russian assets. Article 5 of NATO could drag us into a direct conflict with Russia
