Is it possible the issue "do not obey illegal orders" is coming from a place where Congress members can see charges of war crimes coming?

Lately, streaming platforms are playing old docuseries on many Nazis who were hunted, brought up on charges, tried, and executed, for war crimes. The military teaches us not to be emotional. We are there to complete the mission. The lack of emotion was used as a very strong premise that these criminals evolved from "pure evil". Is it possible Congressional Members are trying to protect our service members, from crossing that very thin line?

Is it 'possible'? Sure. Is it 'probable'? The belief that it is based in facts will largely come down to an individual's political ideology as well as how partisan they are.

COL Randall C. as we observe an environment of "nothing is set in stone", how humiliating and dangerous that we may become a 21st century country who has military service personnel extradited to another country to stand trial as a war criminal. I am amazed that we as a country still believes we are the "super power" guardian of the planet, untouchable! The USA has vehement enemies. Why is it so hard to believe that the enemy of my enemy is not what is surrounding the USA? What are we going to do if our enemies align against us?

Possible? Yes, it is possible. I do not think the reminder was necessary, if that is what it was. I have still not forgotten the warning about illegal orders I received over 53 years ago.

SP5 Dennis Loberger I think we need reminders, warnings, pigeon messages whatever it takes because we are operating in arrogance. We are not in a video game.

COL (Join to see) well, then, there is that whole issue of "multiple audiences", which opens up another quagmire.
