Paying workers to protest: The controversial trend of social justice benefits

"Social Justice" has always confused me. So I looked up the Google definition: "justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society." And I'm still confused. Because individuals have different skills, talents, and intelligence. So if you give them EXACTLY EQUAL opportunity, there will be UNEQUAL distribution of wealth. Can't have both equal opportunity and equal distribution of wealth. I'm still confused.

Thanks for the warning. Now excuse me while I go make sure I don't have any stock in this company in my portfolio. No, I don't object to how they exercise their freedom of speech. I just don't want to invest in companies that would rather use it to waste my investment

My wife works as the HR director and contracts compliance officer for an environmental firm. It is a decidedly "lefty" workplace. All the magazines in the lunch room are either radically environmental, (zero population growth, greenhouse catastrophe, etc.) or socialist economics. The least lefty journal is "Mother Jones". There is a never ending supply of anti-Republican, anti-conservative, anti-Christian, anti-wealth, and anti-business articles posted on the very large bulletin board. Periodicals and postings that run counter to the lefty culture do not typically last until the end of the day.

My wife and about a half dozen others jokingly refer to them selves as the traditional American moles, but they do not engage in discussions that might reveal their "righty" beliefs. So these companies can say employees can have their social justice days, but there is always intimidation if you must justify them to management that may have a different view on the same issue.
