Would you willingly volunteer (i.e. not volun-told) to march in the parade in Washington DC?

It has not been my experience that Soldiers want to participate in Parades and Ceremonies for the most part - but maybe that's just my experience. I'm curious as to the actual polls numbers for voluntary participation.
I meant to include Reserve and NG in the "Active Duty" options. "Currently Serving" would have been a better choice of words, but I can't edit it now! You'll figure it out.

TDY to the nations capital, take a little leave while there and see the sights... not volunteering isn't going to stop the event, however volunteering seems too much like willingly supporting a bad decision.

It depends on the reason behind the parade. If it is a "show of force" than no, I would not volunteer. If it is to show appreciation for our service members, than yes I would. For the poll, I'll use the official response from the White House that was reported by WaPo: "He has asked the Department of Defense to explore a celebration at which all Americans can show their appreciation."

PO1 Don Gulizia - That may be in the job description, but she is paid to explains away the words that come out of his mouth/twitter. Sure Gen. Mattis can say the parade reflects POTUS's affection for the troops (and in the general's mind it would his honor to be on the reviewing stand), but given what POTUS said when he uninvited the Warriors to the WH, in his mind, it will be an honor for the troops to march in his parade, rather than his honor to review them: "Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating,therefore invitation is withdrawn!"

Capt David Bays - What's your point? Are you trying to disprove my opinion? You are still speculating on the intent of the parade. Also, you said, "I believe the military official's version over her's." Great, I responded with Gen. Mattis' statements.
