Gen. George S. Patton was a complicated military figure, but there can be little debate over whether he was quotable.
Perhaps most famous for his commanding of the 7th Army during World War II, Old “Blood and Guts” often gave rousing speeches to motivate, inspire and educate his soldiers. We collected 11 of his most famous quotes (courtesy of his estate’s official website) that show how larger than life he really was.

Thanks for the heads up, that would make a nice Weekender trip from here in central Ohio, and spring would be beautiful there.

I've always admired Gen Patton and used several of his quotes as how I led my crew. One was never ask my guys to do something I would not, but I took it one step farther in that I always tried to do it better and helped them improve even if they met minimum requirements.

General George Patton’s famous Third Army was activated at noon on August 1st, 1944 with Patton writing this poem:
“So let us do real fighting, boring in and gouging, biting.
Let’s take a chance now that we have the ball.
Let’s forget those fine firm bases in the dreary shell raked spaces
Let’s shoot the works and win! Yes, win it all!”
